If you are claiming Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance

If you are making a brand new claim or are reclaiming Income Support (IS) or Jobseeker's Allowance  JSA(IB) you must make your claim for Housing Benefit and or Council Tax Benefit at The Job Centre.

The Job Centre will take you through the questions for any of these benefits. This means that you will not have to fill in a separate claim form for Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit.

If you are a private tenant you will still have to provide us with proof of your rent paid and proof of income for anyone in your household who is over 18. We will write to you to request this.
