Introduction to Contracts

This section emphasises the role of the Corporate Procurement Team to plan the contracting process in order that the Council is able to procure the required services, works or supplies to the required quality, at the right time and at the best price. This requirement exists irrespective of the type or value of contract and irrespective of whether a formal tender process is followed.

The manner in which this is achieved will vary with the nature of the contract being let and the condition of the marketplace.
