Built in 1963 with a grant from the Allbermarl Youth Trust as a Youth Centre and managed by the City Education Department.
A year later the formed Community Association were given Friday night to use the Centre. In 1981 closure threatened but the City Council took over responsibility from the County Council until 1999 when the Trustees of the Centre took a 25 year lease from the Council.
