Longtown Memorial Hall Community Centre is a fine red-brick building. It stands on the edge of the town besides the A7 as it heads from Cumbria towards the Scottish Border. The Memorial Hall,(or as it was first known the Arthuret Parish War Memorial Hall) was built in 1924 to commemorate those local people who had fallen during the First World War. Today, the building is still busily serving as it has done for generations the needs of local people.
In 1981, the building was extended in an exciting development which provided additional facilities for the community to enjoy. New meeting rooms, squash courts, fitness suite, sauna, solarium were added.
