Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP)

Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) were formed in 1999 as a result of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The Carlisle and Eden Partnerships merged in 2001 and formulated a joint strategy to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour in both districts, the first in the UK to take this joint approach. It has set itself an ambitious strategy to improve quality of life, reduce violent crime and address prolific offending behaviour.

The CDRP attracts funding for crime reduction initiatives and ensures that these initiatives address local problems not just relating to crime but to the cause of crime, fear of crime and other quality of life issues.
