Fun Activities in Carlisle for Everyone

Carlisle City Council would like to introduce their extended services for 6 to 19 year olds …

face2face Programme

Funding from the BIG lottery and continued support from Cumbria County Council has enabled Carlisle City Council to extend the services it offers for children and young people.

The current scheme we are working to is called Summer Schemes and clicking on the hyperlink in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page will open a PDF file that will provide you with more information.

Hundreds of local children and young people are expected to take part in some free fun activities in celebration of National Playday next Wednesday (4 August). The majority of this year’s events will take place in the city centre pedestrianised area, in front of the Old Town between 10am and 4pm based on the theme ‘Our place!’ and calls for everyone to make time for play. ·

Sports and games, including tennis activities (Carlisle City Council’s Sport & Recreation team); natural messy play and fun activities for under fives (Barnardos Children’s Centres); arts, crafts and games (Carlisle City Council face2face children and young people’s team); street dance workshops; story telling; Bongo Ben and his musical sculptures; skate ramps and training; and general information (Children & Families Information Service, Capita Road Safety, Cumbria Police and Armed Forces). Some Carlisle United players will also be making an appearance!

face2face play and youth workers provide opportunities for 6 to 19 year olds to get involved in a range of outreach Schemes and Venture Days , Projects and Events based in pubic spaces and local neighbourhoods.
