Equality and Diversity

Scrutiny aims to improve the quality of decision making and the performance of the Council, to ensure it is transparent and accountable. It also aims to engage the community and champion issues of local concern. As such, equality and diversity is a key driver for scrutiny as we seek to ensure that scrutiny work is fair and accessible to all the community.

Equality Impact Assessment (2008)

The Scrutiny team has undertaken an equality impact assessment of the scrutiny function. The findings of this assessment led to the development of a number of actions that scrutiny will implement to improve the way it works and considers equality issues.

The equality impact assessment will be reviewed every 3 years to determine how the function is progressing and what other actions need to be taken.
