School - breakfast clubs

What is an out of school club?

An out of school club offers play and care for school aged children at times when school is closed.  A typical club will open from 3.15 pm until 6.00 pm during term-time.  A 'breakfast club' provides care before school starts and some clubs will open during school holidays.

Clubs take place in a variety of settings such as schools, community centres and day nurseries.  Children attend out of school clubs for many reasons - their parents are at work or college, or they may go just for fun.  Clubs offer a "home from home" environment and children can take part in activities which may not be on offer anywhere else.

Cumbria County Council provide Breakfast Clubs as part of their children's services.
