Hazardous waste collection

Carlisle City Council does not operate a hazardous waste collection service. Local residents can take certain hazardous wastes to the Household Waste Recycling Centre - Bousteads Grassing where an attendant will assist you.

We advise you to contact the County Council to ascertain which hazardous wastes can be disposed of at Rome Street prior to taking it there for disposal.

Hazardous trade waste needs to be disposed of with a private contractor. For more information about handling hazardous waste contact The Environment Agency.
