Homeowners Mortgage Support (HMS): Government initiative to help people at risk of repossession.

This service is responsible for:

Managing two hostels and homeshares for the homeless.
Investigating cases of homelessness and subsequently providing housing for those households in priority groups who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

Overseeing the contract between Carlisle City Council and Carlisle Housing Association, in respect of former City Council-owned properties.
Dealing with all private sector housing complaints under the Housing Health and Safety Ratings System regarding rented properties. Issuing of mandatory and additional licences for Houses in Multiple Occupation.
Immigration Inspections for Entry Clearance to the UK: the City Council are now providing an inspection service, in respect of housing conditions, for people wishing to immigrate to the UK. For more information click here.
Managing the City Council's Low Cost Housing Scheme.
Managing Disabled Facility Grants.
