Payments for all building regulations fees may be made in person (cheque or cash), over the telephone or by post.

Submit-a-Plan is a free service which enables anyone with web access to submit Building Control applications electronically.

Either a 'Full Plans' or a 'Building Notice' application must be submitted before commencing most building work, including internal alterations, even where Planning Permission is not needed. There are exemptions for many conservatories, porches, sheds, small garages and some other work.

Our Building Control Service

If you talk to us about your designs at an early stage, you may avoid costly alterations later. Our surveyors have the technical expertise and local knowledge to help you to overcome any Building Control problems.

We can also help to co-ordinate your applications with other Local Authority services including

We provide the best possible Building Control Service for Architects, Builders and Developers and ensure that building work continues to satisfy National Building Regulations. As we handle about 1,400 Building Control submissions each year, we split the district into two sections, with one team dedicated to each area.

Electronic forms

Electronic forms can be completed and submitted online, with no paper involved, which is not only our preferred method; it's kinder to the environment as well.
